The French carmaker Renault has announced it will launch the Dacia brand in the UK in December 2012 with the first sales occurred in January 2013.The Romanian brand will present the subcompact and compact SUV Duster Sandero to the UK through a network of Renault dealers. The Duster will be priced below 10,000 pounds, while the Sandero will be offered for less than 7,000 pounds. Renault says its existing dealers will have to invest only 3,000 pounds for signaling and tools to market the new brand.The director of Renault UK said Thierry Sybord that Dacia will not take the sister Renault brand sales. The aim of the new brand is to attract new customers as it has since new buyers who go to other brands Dacia came from or used car market, he said. The Duster and Sandero should be offered in the UK with 1.6 L petrol engines and 1.5 L diesel.
